Olmstead To Participate In Consultants University

Olmstead & Associates today announced that Dr. John W. Olmstead, president of the legal management consulting group, will be a presenter at Consultants University hosted by the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants.

The day-long conference dedicated to enhancing independent professional services practices is being held on November 6, 2003 in St. Louis, Missouri, at the Frontenac Hilton Hotel. Olmstead will be one of eight presenters. His topic, Practice Management 101: Tips for Starting, Establishing, and Maintaining Your Practice, will provide practice tips that he has acquired over nineteen years managing his consulting practice and advising consultants and other professionals.

Founded in 1968, the Institute of Management Consultants USA, Inc. (IMC USA) is the national professional association representing management consultants. IMC USA establishes professional and ethical standards for management consultants, provides continuing education and information relative to the profession, and increases public awareness of the management consulting profession.

IMC USA is the U.S. member of the prestigious International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), which has chapters in 32 countries.

Dr. Olmstead is a certified management consultant and has more than 34 years of experience in law firm management and working with other professional service firms. He is president of Olmstead & Associates, a legal management-consulting firm based in St. Louis. He also is Editor-in-Chief of The Lawyers Competitive Edge: The Journal of Law Office Economics and Management, published by West Group. His doctoral work in Business Administration concentrated on organizational behavior and marketing. He has lectured for the Association of Legal Administrators, St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Trial Attorneys, IBM, Illinois State University, Illinois State Bar Association, Solo-Map CPA Association of St. Louis and many other state and local bar associations.
