Legal Management Consultant John Olmstead to Serve As Vice Chair – Illinois State Bar Association Law Office Management & Economics Committee

Olmstead & Associates today announced that Dr. John W. Olmstead, president of the legal management consulting group, has been appointed Vice Chair, Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Law Office Management and Economics, for 2006-2007.

Olmstead has been a long standing member of the Committee and has previously served as Secretary. He was invited to participate as a member of the committee to lend his expertise in the field towards the works of the committee and his creativity related to Law Practice Management, which is the mission the committee is charged with.

Dr. Olmstead is a Certified Management Consultant and the president of Olmstead & Associates, Legal Management Consultants and Life On Balance. Both firms are based in St. Louis, Missouri. Olmstead & Associates helps law and other professional service firms change and reinvent their practices. Dr. Olmstead has more than 38 years experience in law firm management and working with law firms. He is currently serving as Vice Chair, Standing Committee on Law Office Management and Economics of the Illinois State Bar Association and will assume the position of Chair in June. Dr. Olmstead is the Editor-in-Chief of “The Lawyers Competitive Edge: The Journal of Law Office Economics and Management,” published by Thomson-West. He has lectured for the Association of Legal Administrators, St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Trial Attorneys, IBM, Illinois State University, Illinois State Bar Association, Solo-Map CPA Association of St. Louis and many other national, state, and local bar associations.
