Olmstead Re-Appointed To Section Council Of The Illinois State Bar Association

ST. LOUIS, Mo., May 1, 2003 . . .

Olmstead & Associates, a St. Louis, Mo.-based legal management consulting firm, today announced that its president, Dr. John W. Olmstead, Jr., has recently been re-appointed as a member of the Law Office Economic Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association.

Olmstead was invited to participate as a member of the Law Office Economic Section Council for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 to lend his expertise in the field towards the works of the council and his creativity related to Law Practice Management, which is the mission the council is charged with. Olmstead will also serve as a facilitator of a roundtable discussion at the Law Office Economic Section Council’s Office Management Survival Skills Idea Exchange that will focus on “Business Strategy and Marketing.” His primary role as facilitator will be to lead discussion on the topic and act as an informative resource. The idea exchange will be held on June 20, 2003 at Lake Geneva, Wis., as part of the Illinois State Bar Association’s annual conference.

Dr. Olmstead is a certified management consultant and has more than 30 years of experience in law firm management and working with other professional service firms. He is president of Olmstead & Associates, a legal management-consulting firm based in St. Louis. He also is Editor-in-Chief of The Lawyers Competitive Edge: The Journal of Law Office Economics and Management, published by West Group. His doctoral work in Business Administration concentrated on organizational behavior and marketing. He has lectured for the Association of Legal Administrators, St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Trial Attorneys, IBM, Illinois State University, Illinois State Bar Association, Solo-Map CPA Association of St. Louis and many other state and local bar associations.
